South Brent and District Caring said goodbye to our inspirational founder Sue in December 2016. As you may know Sue and Ray emigrated to New Zealand to join their family, including a new grandchild.
Sue has been involved with South Brent and District Caring from the beginning in 2012. It was Sue who realised in 2011 that there was a need for a local charity providing care and help which was not provided by statutory agencies. Sue built the charity up from nothing and there are now over 100 clients – vulnerable & isolated members of the community who are looked after by over 70 volunteers, living in the same area.
Sue was passionate about ensuring our clients felt involved and supported by their community. For four years Sue was the face of South Brent and District Caring representing us at meetings with local groups earning plaudits from other charity organisations, local health care professionals and from our MP, Sarah Wollaston.
We wish Sue and Ray our best wishes for their new life in New Zealand.
